Do ever wake up hungry on some days and not hungry at all on others? Strange isn’t it? This past Sunday I woke up H.U.N.G.R.Y. Hungry for french toast. And I remembered seeing a recipe earlier in the week that called for sautéing apples. I’d never thought to do that before. We recently bought a flavored cinnamon sugar butter and I thought, ‘oh mannnn…how yummy would that be?’ Sautéed apples in cinnamon sugar butter on french toast…yes, please! That was enough to get me out of bed.
I headed into the kitchen and got to work. The first thing I did…put some bacon in the oven. Did you know you can bake bacon? I didn’t know this until this past month and it’s amazing! I love it because it leaves my griddle open for things like, oh I don’t know…french toast maybe? 😛
So bacon is in the oven. (350° for 30 minutes roughly.)
Next, slice up some apples. I used Pink Lady because it’s one of my favorite types of apples. First I used my apple corer/slicer from Pampered Chef. If you don’t have one of these, you need to get one. They’re awesome! Then I just sliced those slices into chunks. I then sautéed the apples in some cinnamon butter in a cast iron frying pan for roughly 15 minutes.
